John T. Barham

John T. Barham, of Riverside, Calif., formerly of Prescott, died March 3, 1997, in Riverside, Calif.

Born August 8, 1911, in Prewcott, he was the son of John W. and Nettie (Nelson) Barham, and a veteran of the U.S. Navy, retiring in 1960 as a commander in the supply corps. Much of his service years were spent in the Pacific, including being stationed at Pearl Harbor at the outbreak of World War II, on board ship at the battles of Midway and Guadacanal. He also served in Japan during the Korean War before returning to the U.S. to complete his service. His wife of 57 years, Frances B. Barham, preceded him in death in 1995.

Survivors include two daughters, Brenda Hill of Claremont, Calif., and Janice Greer of Tacoma, Wash.; and two granddaughters.

Services were held Saturday, March 8, at Air Force Village West Chapel. Burial was in Point Loma, San Diego, Calif.
