John Henry ButlerPublished Wednesday, March 19, 1997 in the Nevada County PicayuneJohn Henry Butler, 79, of Texarkana, Texas, died Monday, January 27, 1997, at his home. Born January 2, 1918, in Rosston, he was retired from Red River Army Depot. He was a member of Westlawn Missionary Baptist Church. He was a mason, former basketball referee and an army veteran of World War II. Survivors include his wife, Afton M. Butler of Texarkana; one son, Norbert Butler of Arlington, Texas; one daughter, Sharon Baker of Texarkana; one brother, Lynn Butler of Texarkana; two sisters, Floy Fontnot of Texarkana and Lucille Horsey of Houston, Texas; four grandchildren; two step grandchildren; and five great grandchildren. Services were held at Union Missionary Baptist Church in Bodcaw with Revs. Tom Sannes and Lynn McBride officiating. Burial was in Union Cemetery under the direction of East Funeral Home of Texarkana.
