Warren `Buster' Payne

Warren L. `Buster' Payne, 77, of Prescott passed away Wednesday, March 11, 1997, in Beverly Health and Rehabitation Center.

He was born November 6, 1919, in Amity to Ben W. and Lottie (Latch) Payne. Mr. Payne was a service station-garage owner. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Prescott. He was also a WWII veteran and a lifetime member of Disabled American Veterans Society. Mr. Payne was also a member of the American Legion, VFW and he was a mason.

Survivors include his wife, Pearl Cornelius Payne of Prescott; one son, Mike Payne of Texarkana; two daughters, Becky Buchanan of Texarkana and Angela Garner of Arkadelphia; two sisters, Dorothy Smith of Fort Worth, Texas, and Alvis Wendt of Concord; and one grandaughter.

Services were held Thursday, March 13, at Brazzel-Cornish Chapel in Prescott with Rev. Milten Cowling and Rev. Neal Ridling officiating. Burial was in Missionary Grove Cemetery under the direction of Herndon Funeral Home of Hope.
