Gordon Powell Jr.Published Wednesday, March 19, 1997 in the Gurdon TimesGordon Powell Jr., 82, of Hot Springs, formerly of Gurdon, died Wednesday, March 12, 1997. He was an engineer for the Missouri Pacific Railroad for 35 years. Survivors include a daughter and son in-law, Julia and Dr. Gary Meek of Hot Springs; two grandsons and two granddaughters in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Greg Meek and Mr. and Mrs. David Meek; and two great grandsons. Graveside services were held Friday, March 14, at Rose Hedge Cemetery in Gurdon. Arrangements were by Horne Funeral Home of Gurdon. Memorials may be made to Lakewood Convalescent Home of Hot Springs.
