Footstool Seminar Held

Published Wednesday, March 26, 1997 in the Gurdon Times

Clark County 4-H members recently attended a Woven Footstool Workshop. The class was insturcted by Betty Cook of Gurdon. Betty is a member of the Red Springs Extension Homemakers Club.

The frames for the stools were made by local craftsman Alvin Clark. The 4-H'ers then took split oak and wove over the frame. The stool pattern was a very beautiful herringbone design.

The workshop was attended by Jessica and Krystal Phillips, Dianne and John David Coston, Marilyn and Molly May, Kathryn and Trey Burchfield, and Betty and Clyde Cook.

Other 4-H'ers to complete the stool are Mary Beth and Michele Golden, and Susie and Ashley Webb.

The Extension service expressed its thanks to all involved in making this workshop a success.

Anyone interested in joining a 4-H club should contact the Clark County Extension office at 246-2281.
