College NewsPublished Wednesday, March 26, 1997 in the Nevada County PicayuneMisty Ward, a senior at Nevada High School, has been awarded a technical scholarship at the University of Arkansas Community College at Hope. The scholarship is based upon an ACT and/or grade point average plus a recommendation from a school official. Ward is the daughter of John and Rhonda Ward of Buckner. She will be pursuing a major in pre-bachelor degree in nursing. Billy D. Dillard, a senior at Nevada High School, has been awarded an alumni scholarship to Southern Arkansas University in Magnolia. The scholarship has four-year value of over $7,000. It includes resident tution as a fulltime student. Dillard is the son of Donald and Diane Dillard of Emmet. Jennifer McLelland of Prescott was one of 1,246 students who graduated from Oklahoma State University in Stillwater following the end of the fall 1996 semester. She received a bachelor of science degree in industrial engineering and management. New graduates represented 37 states, the District of Columbia and numerous foreign countries.
