Luke `Poor Boy' Spearman

Luke `Poor Boy' Spearman, 65, of Prescott died Friday, March 28, 1997, at his home.

Born in Nevada County on August 23, 1931, he was the son of Jacie and Elizar Rodger Spearman. He was a retired saw filer from Potlatch and also an Arkansas licensed funeral director employed by Brazzel-Cornish Funeral Home of Prescott. He was a member of Mt. Ephesus Baptist church and a member of Evergreen Masonic Lodge 29.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Dell Hopson Spearman of Prescott; two sons, Terry Spearman of Prescott and Tony Spearman of Little Rock Air Force Base; three daughters, Rebecca Hicks of Rosston and Mary Block and Angela Walters, both of Prescott; one brother, Silas Spearman of Richmond, Calif.; two sisters, Ernest Lee White of Hope and Lucy Hopson of Prescott; 19 grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.

Services will be held Saturday, April 5, at 1:00 p.m. at Mt. Ephesus Baptist Church with Revs. Fred Walters and J.C. Pearson officiating. Burial will be in Laneburg Cemetery with Brazzel-Cornish Funeral Home of Prescott officiating.
