Bess Citty Gist

Bess Citty Gist, 95, of Prescott, died Monday, March 24, 1997.

Born March 30, 1901, in Ozan, she was a librarian for Nevada County for 19 years and also worked for Steuart Grocery for 20 years. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, United Methodist Women and the Business and Professional Women's Club. She was the widow of James William Gist.

Survivors include two daughters, Frances Hester of Blanchard, La.; one brother, Clifton Citty of Canyon City, Texas; one sister, Merle Matthews of Queen City, Texas; three grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and four great great grandchildren.

Graveside services and burial were held at St. Paul Cemetery in Ozan on March 26 with Dale Diffee officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Shackelford Funeral Home of Prescott.
