A Nevada County felony warrant resulted in the arrest of a 33-year-old El Dorado woman.

According to Jim Westmoreland, criminal investigator for the Nevada County Sheriff's Office and Prescott Police Department, Laura Voss, was picked up by the El Dorado Police Department on the warrant, Tuesday, March 25.

According to records, Voss worked for a Prescott dentist and was accused of stealing a credit card from a patient's purse.

Additionally, a check from the same victim's account showed up forged at the Wal-Mart Supercenter in El Dorado, prompting the El Dorado PD to get involved in the case.

Records also show a check stolen from Prescott and written for more than $800 turned up at a Wal-Mart Superstore in Texarkana in April 1995.

Arkansas State Police investigator Scott Clark is investigating the case because of a forged check appearing in Hope in Sept. 1996.

Should Voss be charged on the Nevada County warrant for theft of a credit card, it will be a class C felony with a sentence of three to 10 years in prison and a fine not to exceed $10,000.
