William Eugene Welch

William Eugene Welch, 76, of Gurdon died Saturday, March 22, 1997, at Pineview Care Center.

He was born October 12, 1920, in Gurdon to W.O. and Ruth Welch. Mr. Welch was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, spending six years in the South Pacific. He was a member of the American Legion, V.F.W. and he was a sponsor of the Junior Mounted Patrol.

Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Mildred Welch of Gurdon, and three brothers, Glen and Neil Welch of Arkadelphia and Sam Welch of North Little Rock.

Funeral services were held Monday, March 24, at Red Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Jeff Tackett officiating. Burial was in Bethel Springs Cemetery under the direction of Horne Funeral Home of Gurdon. Memorials may be made to Bethel Springs Cemetery, Red Springs Baptist Church of the charity of your choice.
