Gurdon Youth Learn 9-1-1Published Wednesday, April 9, 1997 in the Gurdon TimesStudents in the Gurdon Primary School were given lessons in how to properly use the 9-1-1 emergency telephone system by Gurdon Police officer Tony Pruitt Friday, April 4, in the GPS library. He told them the fine for calling 9-1-1 in a non-emergency situation could result in a $250 fine and get them in trouble. At the end of the talk, Pruitt and Gurdon Mayor Rick Smith passed out suckers and coloring books on how to use 9-1-1.
