James Floyd Crain

James Floyd Crain, 81, of Prescott died Friday, April 4, 1997, in a Texarkana hospital after a lengthy illness.

Born in 1916, he was the son of John and Jewel Ward Crain and a lifelong resident of Nevada County. He was a long time deacon of First Baptist Church in Prescott. Mr. Crain retired in 1978 from Logan Grocer Company in Prescott. He served during World War II in the Eighth Air Force of the European Theatre.

Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth Williams Crain; one sister, Betty Leake of Lubbock, Texas; and one brother-in-law, Derald Williams of Prescott.

Services were held Monday, April 7, at First Baptist Church in Prescott. Burial was in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery under the direction of Shackelford Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Prescott or to Crain-Williams Scholarship at Ouachita Baptist University in Arkadelphia.
