Published Wednesday, April 9, 1997 in the Nevada County Picayune

After coming off a good spring, break the Wolves were ready to start their April relay season last week.

They were scheduled to compete as a full team at he annual "Doc Walker' Hog relays on Friday. Because of the torrential rains that flooded the Ark-La-Tex area, the meet was canceled. It was just as well as the Wolves were faced with illness, funerals, etc., coach Eddie Jackson related.

A few men were scheduled to compete at the 11th annual Genoa Central on Saturday. Four of these Wolves did meet coach Jackson at 7:30 a.m. and did a good job of scoring 34 points for a sixth place in the 13-team meet.

Jason Morrow led most of the scoring. He was a double winner in the vault with a 13' 4" vault and the 800-meter run with a time of 2:09.

He also placed second in the long jump with a leap of 20' 4". Brent Jordan took third place in the vault and competed in the 100, 200 dashes and the 110 hurdles and 300 intermediate hurdles.

Brock Jordan competed in the vault and 1600 run. Jarrod Yates threw the shot and discus.

This week the Wolves were supposed to host a relay carnival on Tuesday and compete in the SAU Rider Relays on Thursday.
