Tornado sirens in Gurdon will be tested at noon every Wednesday, weather permitting.

Monday and Tuesday, August 16 and 17, from 12:00 noon until 3:00 p.m. Cabe Middle School students may pick up their schedules and visit with any of the teachers if needed.

The Clark County Fair Board will meet Thursday, August 12, at 7:00 p.m. at the fair grounds.

The parenting education grant recently awarded to the Hours of Joy Child Care, 501 East Main, will provide parenting classes once a week at no charge to parents. For a schedule, parents can call 353-4672 or 353-4329. Classes will be held on Tuesdays, with first and third week of each month meeting at 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., second and third meeting at 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m.

Arkansas Rehabilitation Services will be in Gurdon on August 19 at the Gurdon Municipal building from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. New applicants are welcome. Call 353-2514 for an appointment or more information.

Gurdon Masonic Lodge 187 meets the first and third Tuesday of each month. All members are urged to attend.

Alcoholics Anonymous meets on Wednesdays and Sundays at 8:00 p.m. at the American Legion building, Highway 67 North, one mile out of Gurdon.
