Citizen Of The Year Nominations Sought

It's time once again to help select the Citizen of the Year in Prescott.

The announcement of Citizen of the Year is one of the highlights of the annual Prescott-Nevada County Chamber of Commerce Banquet.

The deadline for nominations for this honor is Friday, May 2, 1997.

Residents of the county are urged to select that individual they most admire, respect and feel deserves the recognition.

The rules for nominating and selecting the Citizen of the Year require are as follows: those submitting names must be a county resident, and anyone can make a nomination. The nominee must also be a county resident.

The person making the nomination must do so in writing, along with the reasons they feel the nominee deserves to be Citizen of the Year.

A selection committee will judge the nominations according to the following criteria: outstanding service to family, city, county, state, national affairs, church, fraternal organizations, recreation, industrial and education oriented services.

The selection committee will judge on the content of the nomination letters submitted, rather than the number of letters and signatures.
