Published Wednesday, April 23, 1997 in the Nevada County Picayune

The United States Achievement Academy has announced that Jason Webb has been named an All-American Scholar.

He is a student at Prescott High School

Webb was nominated for this national award by coach Cecily Butler.

Webb will appear in the All-American Scholar Yearbook, which is published nationally.

"Recognizing and supporting our youth is more important than ever before in America's history," according to Dr. George Steven, executive director of USAA. "Certainly, winners of the All-American scholar awards should be congratulated and appreciated for their dedication to excellence and achievement."

The academy selects USAA winners upon the exclusive recommendation of teachers, coaches, counselors and other qualified sponsors. Once awarded, the students may be recognized by the USAA for other honors.

Webb is the son of Tommy and Sarah Webb of Prescott. His grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. C.T. Harris of Prescott and Urcella Webb and the late Howard Webb of Blevins.
