PHS Finishes 3rd At Track Meet

The 1997 Wolves finally got a chance to compete in a major meet with almost a full squad.

Led by senior Channing Butler, the Wolves hung in the race with Stamps and Mineral Springs for a third place finish.

Butler qualifed for the state meet in the 120 high hurdles with a time of 15.2 seconds, the 400 with a time of 49.9 seconds and anchored the qualifying 4x400 relay.

He was joined by another senior teammate, Cedric Flemons, in giving good effort all day.

Flemons did not score as many points, but he did compete in the high jump, discus, long jump, 4x100 relay, 120 hurdles, 4x200 and 4x400 relays.

Jason Morrow, who has been leading the Wolves in scoring, was hampered by a bad ankle, but he did win the vault and ran good legs in the 4x200 and 4x400 relays.

Listed below are the scoring performances from the Scrapper Relays last Thursday at Nashville.

Pole vault: J. Morrow, first place and J. Kisselburg, second place.

Shot put: B. Vansickle, fifth place.

Discus: L. Burton, fourth place.

Long jump: C. Flemons, sixth place.

High jump: C. Flemons, third place.

4x100 relay: Team of C. Hopson, C. Flemons, C. Vanhook, fourth place.

110 hurdles: Ch. Butler, first place and C.D. Flemons third place.

4x200 relay: Team of Jeremy and Jason Morrow, C.D. Flemons and Cowin Hopson, third place.

400 meter: Channing Butler, first place.

300 Int. hurdles: Jason Kisselburg, fifth place.

800 meter run: Jeremy Morrow, fourth place.

4x400 relay: Team of Cowin Hopson, C.D. Flemons, Jason Morrow and Channing Butler, third place.
