Prescott's diamond Wolves had a busy week, playing three games. They managed a 2-1 split in wins.

The Wolves, playing Delight Monday, April 14, posted an 8-4 win to go 6-1 on the season.

They opened with three in the first, closing with a pair in the sixth, scoring solo runs in the second through fourth frames to keep the Bulldogs off balance.

Ben Jones, 2-1, took the win going three innings, facing 17, giving up two hits, three runs, walking six and fanning two.

In addition, Jared Yates spent four innings on the hill. He tangled with 19 batters, giving up three hits, one run and three walks. Yates also recorded nine strike outs.

Silva went the distance for the 'Dogs, facing 37, allowing eight hits, eight runs, nine strikeouts and walking four.

Jones and Jimmy Stockton led the game off with back-to-back singles. Singles by Yates and Williams drove the two in. Shane Pipkin walked to load the bases before Jason Webb grounded into a fielder's choice, which saw Pipkin forced at second. However, Yates scored to give Prescott a 3-0 lead.

Three 'Dogs went to bat, and all three were retired, after Jackson reached on an error and Teel hit into a double play.

Ross Cowling singled to start the second for the Wolves. He scored following a pair of sacrifice flies by Jones and Stockton.

Delight managed a run in the bottom of the frame, starting with walks to Parrish and Slatton. Thomas smacked into a fielder's choice, which saw Parrish nailed at third. Two more walks allowed Slatton to score.

The Wolves added another run in the third, with Williams walking and scoring on a Webb double.

Teel and Silva singled to start Delight's third, and were followed by a Parrish walk to load the bases. When Thomas walked, he got an RBI as Tel scored. An error allowed Silva to cross the plate as well.

Run six for Prescott was added in the top of the fourth. Jones walked and advanced on a Stockton fly. Al Johnston singled to score Jones, but was picked off at first.

Delight was quiet in the frame.

Prescott managed to get two on in the fifth, but they were left stranded as the next three were unable to advance them.

The 'Dogs fired their final salvo in the bottom of the inning, when Thomas singled and scored on a Campbell single.

Two more runs were added by Prescott in the sixth. The insurance runs began with Stockton reaching on an error. This was followed by Johnston taking one downtown for his third homer of the season.

The long-ball took the wind out of Delight's sail, as the 'Dogs were silent for the remainder of the game.

Prescott's junior varsity team also posted a 9-2 win over Delight to go 5-1 on the year. Hammrick was the winning pitcher, with Duke going two innings of relief.

The Wolves suffered their second loss of the season and first league loss Tuesday, April 15, as the Fountain Lake Cobras stung them 9-5.

Whiley was the winning pitcher for the Cobras, going four innings against 17 hitters. He allowed three runs on five hits, walking two and fanning four.

Karl finished the game, going three frames against 13 batters, allowing three hits, two runs, a walk and three K's.

Formby took the loss for Prescott, staying on the hill six frames. He took on 33 batters, allowed nine hits, nine runs, a walk and four strikeouts.

Yates finished the game, seeing only three with bats. He gave up nothing and fanned one.

The Cobras started well, with four in the first. Grisson singled, scoring on a Keen double. Neighbors fanned, but reached when the catcher failed to field the ball. Dill reached on an error, which allowed Karl and Neighbors to score.

Down, the Wolves were far from out as they roared back with three in their part of the frame.

Stockton singled in front of a Johnston walk. Yates drove Stockton in with a one-bagger, while Williams reached on a fielder's choice. Yates was caught at second on the play, but Johnston scored. Webb connected with a double to bring Williams in.

Thompson walked to start the second and went to second on a Grisson bunt. He scored when Keen singled.

Formby was hit by a pitch in the bottom of the inning and replaced by Gammage on first. However, Gammage was picked off and the Wolves failed to score.

The third was quiet for both teams as neither mounted a threat.

The Cobras, however, added two more in the fourth, starting with Thompson getting on board by way of an error. Grisson was hit by a pitch, and both scored on a Keen single.

Prescott managed to load the bases, but Fountain missed third base after replacing Williams on the bases for the final out.

While nothing happened in the fifth, the Cobras finished scoring in the sixth. A Thompson single, keen double and Neighbors single was enough for two runs.

The Wolves managed their last two runs in the inning as well. Yates started with a walk, with Williams following after hitting into an unsuccessful fielder's choice. Webb singled to drive Yates in. Webb scored later in the inning after Cowling singled.

Prescott had a chance to score in the seventh, but had some weirdness occur.

Johnston had doubled. Yates hit a grounder to short, but the ball hit Johnston to end the game.

The JV Wolves whipped Fountain Lake 4-1.

PRESCOTT 11

NASHVILLE 5

The Wolves rebounded Wednesday, April 16, by blasting arch-rival Nashville 11-5.

Prescott only scored in the first and fifth frames, but scored big. The Wolves sent six around the bases to touch them all in the first, and another five in the fifth.

The Scrappers scored once in the third and four times in the fourth.

The Scrappers got two on in the first, with Martin walking and McGill singling. Fincher, though, grounded into an inning-ending double play.

Jones went down on strikes as the first Wolf at bat. Then the floodgates opened.

Stockton singled. This was followed by a Johnston double. Yates drove both in with a single. Williams and Webb walked to load the bases. Duke got a cheap RBI when he walked, bringing Yates in.

Formby did the same, walking to score Williams. It became redundant when Cowling walked in Webb. The format changed when Duke scored on a wild pitch.

From there the game quieted down. Neither offense threatened much in the second.

Nashville, though, managed to score in the top of the third when Reed walked and scored when a pick off attempt went
