Testimony Continues In Trial Of Joe Dansby; Juror Dropped (cont) (cont)Published Wednesday, April 23, 1997 in the Nevada County PicayuneWilliams, Cooper said, is serving time now for murdering his wife. Gary Lawrence brought believability back to the trial with his testimony on trace evidence. Lawrence works with the crime lab. He told the court hair samples from Clark were tested for gunpowder residue and came up inconclusive, as did testing on her hands. Samples of her fingernails were also tested, with Lawrence finding something blue on them, possibly paint. He said these samples were not tested against paint samples from Lewis' truck. The socks showed the presence of red and blue fibers, but he had nothing to compare them to, and, Lawrence said, the shoes were of no forensic value. Testing on Lewis' body also showed many inconclusive results, but Lawrence did tell the court hair shaved from his head showed the presence of gunpowder. This, he said, would mean the weapon was fired at close range to his head. Search | Nevada County Picayune by date | Gurdon Times by date |
