Testimony Continues In Trial Of Joe Dansby; Juror Dropped (cont) (cont)Published Wednesday, April 23, 1997 in the Nevada County Picayunefore. Then the questioning turned to a bicycle found near Kizer Field in late 1993. Jackie Dansby said he had helped his mother move into the projects (High Meadow) when she and Joe separated. This was during the summer of 1993. In December 1993, he said, his father asked him to get his bicycle, which was behind the projects. According to his testimony, he didn't know when his father left the bike in the woods near the projects, nor could he say his father rode it there. He did tell the court Joe Dansby had two vertebrae removed from his back and had a pinched nerve in his left leg. Jackie Dansby called Hillery at the NCSO on Dec. 31, 1993, telling him about the conversation with his father concerning the bike. Hillery and a trusty, James Duke, went to the area described by the son and found the bike. Both later said it looked like it had been built from parts of two or three bikes and had aqua colored brake cables. He was shown two different reports bearing his name. He told the court he had signed one, but not the other. He denied parts of the reports, saying his father never told him he had ridden the bicycle to the area it was later found.
