College NewsPublished Wednesday, April 16, 1997 in the Nevada County PicayuneChristy Martin, a senior at Prescott High School, has been awarded a technical scholarship at University of Arkansas Community College at Hope. The scholarship is based upon an ACT and grade point average plus a recommendation from a school official. Martin is the daughter of Charlie and Judy Martin of Prescott. She will be pursuing a degree in pre-bachelor in nursing. Crystal Lowe of Rosston has been awarded a University Academic Scholarship to attend the University of Arkansas-Monticello. The Unviersity Academic Scholarship is a four-year, full-tuition award presented to students with a composite ACT score of 24 or above. Lowe is a senior at Nevada High School and the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Milton Lowe. She is a member of the Beta Club, drug-free team, Future Farmers of America, Future Business Leaders of America and editor of the student newspaper. She is also a member of 4-H, the gifted and talented program, Quiz Bowl Team and she was a member of the Lady Blue Jays' basketball team.
