OBU Gets Grant

Ouachita Baptist University has received a grant of $20,000 from the Union Pacific Foundation of Bethlehem, Penn., to purchase an auxiliary piece of physical plant equipment, according to Margaret Wright, development officer and associate professor of accounting.

"The piece of equipment to be purchased will provide significant annual cost savings through a reduction in the consumption of electricity in a five-building megastructure on campus," said Wright.

The check presentation was make recently to OBU President Dr. Ben M. Elrod on behalf of Union Pacific Corporation and Union Pacific Railroad, by Jack Kyle, vice president for government affairs for Union Pacific Railroad Company, and William H. Sutton, general attorney for the Union Pacific Railroad Company and managing partner of Friday, Eldredge, and Clark.
