Elizabeth BarrongPublished Wednesday, April 23, 1997 in the Gurdon TimesElizabeth Barrong, 85, of Gurdon died Tuesday, April 15, 1997, at Pineview Care Center. Mrs. Barrong was born June 17, 1911, in Okolona. She was the daughter of the late Charlie and Maggie Smithpeters Benson Hurst. She was an employee of the old Clark County Hospital and a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church. She was the widow of Belt Barrong. Survivors include one son, Charles Barrong of Kingman, Ariz.; three daughters, Betty Roseberry of Springfield, Ore, Murriel Collins of Gurdon and Wilma Morrison of Friendship; one sister, Flora Lee of Gurdon; 14 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren. Funeral services were Thursday, April 17, at Cornerstone Missionary Baptist Church in Arkadelphia with Junior Thrasher and Larry Newsome officiating. Interment was in Center Ridge Cemetery under the direction of Murry-Ruggles Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Kenneth Herrin, Michael Wicker, Billy Benson, Johnny Benson, E.J.
