Willie McArty Rose

Willie McArty Rose, 84, of Curtis died Tuesday, April 15, 1997, at Baptist Medical Center in Arkadelphia.

Mrs. Rose was born January 9, 1913, in Kilgore, Texas. She was the daughter of the late Walter and Eller Smith. She lived most of her life in Clark County, working as a housekeeper in Riverwood Nursing Home and as live-in help for the elderly. She was preceded in death by Alice Lookadoo, a daughter; William `Bill' Thomas McArty; and by Henry Grudziadz.

Survivors include her husband, Homer Rose of Amity; two sons, Billy McCarty of Arkadelphia and Elmer McCarty of Gurdon; one brother, Wilburn Smith of Mobile, Ala.; two sisters, Dollie Smith of Hot Springs and Maudie Rowe of Popular Grove, Ill.; 13 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Friday, April 18, at Shady Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Larry Bloomfield officiating. Interment was in Shady Grove Cemetery under the direction of Murry-Ruggles Funeral Home.
