Beta Club, NHS Inductees NamedPublished Wednesday, April 30, 1997 in the Gurdon TimesTuesday, April 21, 1997 at Gurdon High School the new Beta Club and National Honor Society members were inducted. The National Beta Club is a service and leadership organization for high school students. Members may consist of seniors and juniors with a grade point of 3.25, and sophomores with a grade average of 3.5. The National Honor Society is a nation-wide leadership organization. Its purpose is to develop scholarship, service, leadership, and character. It is a honor for any high school student to be chosen for this organization. A senior must have a 3.5, a junior must have a 3.75 and a sophomore must have a 4.0. All members must show the characteristics for which they were selected and be approved by the faculty committee. The new members are: Seniors-Cassidy Allen and Mitch Plyler; Juniors-Adrianne Porcelli, Kimberly Robertson, Andy Taylor and Marcus Wright; Sophomores-Bethany Cooper and Camelia Cooper.
