Beta Club, NHS Inductees Named

Tuesday, April 21, 1997 at Gurdon High School the new Beta Club and National Honor Society members were inducted.

The National Beta Club is a service and leadership organization for high school students. Members may consist of seniors and juniors with a grade point of 3.25, and sophomores with a grade average of 3.5.

The National Honor Society is a nation-wide leadership organization. Its purpose is to develop scholarship, service, leadership, and character. It is a honor for any high school student to be chosen for this organization. A senior must have a 3.5, a junior must have a 3.75 and a sophomore must have a 4.0. All members must show the characteristics for which they were selected and be approved by the faculty committee. The new members are: Seniors-Cassidy Allen and Mitch Plyler; Juniors-Adrianne Porcelli, Kimberly Robertson, Andy Taylor and Marcus Wright; Sophomores-Bethany Cooper and Camelia Cooper.
