V.C. `Dutchie' Bright

V.C. `Dutchie' Bright, 77, of Longview, Texas, formerly of Prescott, died Wednesday, April 23, 1997, in Longview, Texas.

Born September 28, 1919, in Sutton, he had been affiliated with the Lincoln-Mercury dealership in Longview since 1960. He was a member of Oakland Heights Baptist Church in Longview, a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and member of Longview Rotary Club, where he was a Paul Harris Fellow. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Helen Bright.

Survivors include one son, Steve Bright of Bedford, Texas; one daughter, Janet Rodgers of Dallas, Texas; three sisters, Robbie O'Sten of Hope, Sue Dowd of Conway and Pat Weaver of Shreveport, La.; and four grandchildren.

Graveside services and burial were held Monday, April 28, at DeAnn Cemetery in Prescott with Rev. Jerry Westmoreland officiating, under the direction of Brazzel-Cornish Funeral Home of Prescott.
