Burglar Suspect Nabbed

A forgery suspect has been arrested and made a first appearance in circuit court.

According to Jim Westmoreland, criminal investigator with the Prescott Police Department and Nevada County Sheriff's Office, Teritha Marks, 26, of Bluff City, was charged on two counts of forgery.

She allegedly forged and cashed two checks at the Prescott Piggly Wiggly. Marks made her first appearance in court Monday, April 28, and had a bond of $5,000 set.

She has also been charged for forgery in Camden, and faces similar charges in Arkadelphia.

BURGLAR BUSTED

An arrest has been made in the Buzz Buy burglary, which occurred Friday, April 18.

Pernell Railey, 34, of Prescott, was charged with commercial burglary and theft of property in the case.

He allegedly gained entry into the building by breaking through a wall. An undisclosed amount of cash and merchandise was taken.

Westmoreland said PPD Sgt. Tyrone Butler and officer Joey Grayson, along with Arkansas State Police criminal investigator Butch Godwin were instrumental in the arrest.

Commercial burglary is a class C felony, with a penalty of three to 10 years in prison and a fine not to exceed $10,000.
