The American Department of Veterans Affairs and State Military Department will present the French Liberation Medal to those WWII veterans who served in France from D-Day June 6, 1944, until the end of the war in Europe.

Presentation of the medals will be made on September 11 at 2:30 p.m., outside at Camp Robinson near the intersection of Missouri and Sixth Streets of the camp.

Eligibility for these medals are proof of service, such as DD214 (discharge) or other proof of service in France. The medal set which contains the medal and a certificate costs $18.

The medal may be awarded posthumously to a family member (widow, widower, son or daughter).

Application for the medal may be submitted by calling 501-212-5021 or 501-370-3821. Request for the medal must be received by August 25.
