School Starts August 19 At Emmet; Teachers NamedPublished Wednesday, August 11, 1999 in the Nevada County PicayuneThe first day of school for Emmet Public Schools will be Thursday, August 19, at 8 a.m. Buses will run regular routes, lunch and breakfast will be served and the after-school day care will be provided beginning on the first day of school. School will be dismissed at 2 p.m. on August 19 and 20 and thereafter at 3 p.m. The price of school lunches are 75 for students and $1.10 for adults. Breakfast price is 30 for students and 55 for adults. Free and reduced applications will be available during open house on August 17. Open house will be held in the Ross Gymnasium on August 17 at 7 p.m. The faculty and staff of the Emmet Public Schools are as follows: Dr. Gene M. Ross, superintendent; Floyd Pollock, elementary principal, math and physical education; and Frank Henson, high school principal, GCE and Voc. Kathy Mitchell will be the librarian for grades K-12; Leslie Taylor, resource room for K- 12; Pat Loe, reading recovery; Diane Davis, kindergarten; Kathy Hooper, first grade; Lorrie Quillin, second grade; Carol Stacy, second grade; Pamela Elliott, third grade; Dora Mae Fee, fourth grade; Amanda Roberston, counselor, fourth grade and C.O.; Cynthia Ward, gifted and talented, fifth grade; Thelma McClure, sixth grade; Brenda Smith, sixth grade; Ann Booker, business education; and Traci Ellis, business education and first grade reading Others are Frances Ross, vocational business and bookkeeper; Georgia Estes, vocational home economics and elementary; Charlie Scoggins, vocational welding; Yvonne Thomas, music; Judy Evans, speech therapist; Jennifer Orr, physical therapist; Regina Weiner, special education supervisor; Mike Smith, math and science. Mike Morrow will teach math; Charles Jones, math and boys' basketball coach; Frank Faulkner, athletic director, will also teach physical education, distributive education, health and science; Steve Kelley, technical coordinator, Spanish and social studies; Traci Jones, social studies, English and girls' coach; and Rebecca Loe, English, journalism and speech. Danny Miller is in maintenance; Bob Klesel, bus maintenance; Jewel Allen, lunchroom supervisor; Shari Foreman, lunchroom worker; Yolanda Reed, lunchroom worker and Louise Henson, principal's aide. Changes at Emmet School for the 1999-2000 school year include a new elementary classroom building, distance learning, computer network between elementary classrooms for instructional purposes and a new coaching staff.
