Gurdon's Police Department worked with the FBI in capturing a suspect wanted for two murders in Chicago, Ill.

According to a report from the GPD, the FBI was given information the suspect, Alton McNeal, 20, of Chicago, was possibly in the Gurdon area staying with friends.

Actually, Gurdon Marshal David Childres said, McNeal had been in the area about two weeks. He said the GPD received a disturbance call around the first of May concerning the suspect and a female, also from Chicago.

McNeal was found at a residence at 1107 Dogwood Drive. A check of the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) was ran on the two at the time of the disturbance. However, the two presented false identification at the time.

But, the FBI showed officers photos of the suspect, with them recognizing McNeal as the person involved in the disturbance at Dogwood Drive.

Friday, May 9, the GPD, assisted by the Clark County Sheriff's Office and FBI went to the home and arrested McNeal without incident.

No charges were filed on others in the house at the time. McNeal is being held in the Clark County jail pending extradition.

Authorities believe the murders in Chicago were gang related.
