Students From Prescott Attend Economic Fair

Three teams from Prescott Schools participated in the annual Economic Fair on Saturday, April 19, at Henderson State Unversity in Arkadelphia.

The teams particpated in five different competiton areas. They were rated against other teams their own age from all across Arkansas. Since this was the first time Prescott has partipated, the sposnors and team members alike were not sure what to expect in each competiton, but the teams did an excellent job of competing, according to school officials.

The third grade team was sposnroed by Sheila Jennings and the members were taken from her MAGIC class. They were Zack Avery, Meagan Martin, Kim Crowder and Trent Cox.

The fourth grade team was sponsored by Eric Barbaree. They were taken from several fourth grade classes. They were Trevor Hunt, Ben Hale, Sam Keuhl and Aaron Bullock.

The fifth grade team was sponsored by Philip Holthoff. His members were taken from his MAGIC class. They were Dan Ingram, Josie Neimyer, Madeline Taylor, Lauren Harris and Katie McCauley.

The fifth graders won first place in the fun run relay competion and received medals at the awards ceremony.

All participants received a t-shirt with a student-designed logo (which was one of the competitions), a folder, plus a bag of goodies, such as snacks, pencils and coupons.

All of the parents who came to watch the competition and the bus driver, Karen Jobe, were truly appreciated. Everyone enjoyed a picnic lunch on the ground.
