Lions Are 'Fair Share' MembersPublished Wednesday, May 14, 1997 in the Nevada County PicayuneThe members of the Prescott Lions Club are "fair-share" contributors to the operating budget of Lions World Services for the Blind (LWSB), reports Herb Lawrence of Conway, LWSB's president, with a contribution of $1,000 for 1996-97. Lawrence said the $50 per members meets the challenge issued this year by the Arkansas Lions Sight Conservation Committee to the clubs for $50 per member. LWSB is a project fo the Lions Clubs of Arkansas, and contributions from the clubs are used for its day to day operations providing rehabilitation services for the blind. Lions utilize numerous fund-raising activities to secure funds for its sight conservation projects. LWSB, formerly Arkansas Enterprises for the Blind, founded in 1947, is an international, non-profit rehabilitation center helping blind and visually impaired people achieve independence with dignity through personal adjustment training and job training.
