Dorsey Ray Askew

Dorsey Ray Askew, 58, of Hope died Monday, May 5, 1997, at John McClellan Veterans Hospital in Little Rock.

Born October 8, 1938, in McNab, he was the son of Ed and Selma Bailey Askew. Mr. Askew was a retired self-employed businessman, an army veteran and a member of Union Baptist Church in Bodcaw.

Survivors include his wife, Ann Bernice Askew of Hope; four sons, Dorsey Ray Askew Jr. and Chad Eugene Askew, both of Hope, and Arthur Evans and Guy Cochran, both of Van Buren; six daughters, Rhonda Hall, Sheila Bruce Tina Smith and Chae Nicole Askew, all of Hope, Lisa Tucker of Texarkana, and Kitty Beard of Springdale; one sister, Dorris Worthy of Hope; and 15 grandchildren.

Services were held Wednesday, May 7, at Brazzel-Oakcrest Chapel Funeral Home with Revs. Kenneth Bobo and David Cook officiating. Burial was in Union Cemetery in Bodcaw under the direction of Brazzel-Oakcrest Chapel Funeral Home of Hope.
