Rosston sends sympathy to the family of Gertie East of Camden, formerly of Rosston. Funeral was Monday morning at Proctor Funeral Home in Camden with burial in Rosston Cemetery.

Valeria O'Keefe, Cindy and Christi Taylor made a business trip to Texarkana Monday.

Sherry Dillard Clark came home from Texarkana Hospital the first of the week. I visited with her on Tuesday and also with Odeal Dillard and Ruth Vinson. Ruth has not been feeling good this week.

Dot Broussard's son 'Bubba' and part of his family spent a few days with her and Paul. They all returned home to Florida on Monday except one grandson. He stayed a few days longer.

Jim, Mona and Sue Dixon attended a class reunion in Texarkana this weekend. They ate one meal at the Rails over there.

Roscoe and I made a business trip to Texarkana on Friday afternoon. Afterward we attended the movie 'Runaway Bride,' with grandson Marty and his wife Raegan. We then had supper with them at the Texas Road House.

On Saturday Bill and Pat Lusby took us back to the Texas Steak House and treated us to a belated birthday supper for Roscoe.

Dot Broussard and her Uncle Ross McKissack of Hope visited some of the family in the nursing home in Camden and also visited with the Gertie East family at Proctor Funeral Home.

Bro. Mike Goodwin of Magnolia preached a very inspiring sermon for us Sunday and rendered a beautiful solo. He is the son of Bro. Rocky Goodwin, who is doing evangelist work, mostly in foreign countries. He has just returned from Africa. Bro. Mike is a former singer of The Men of Calvary.

Louis Jackson and family and others of the Jackson family spent some time vacationing in Galveston, Texas, this week. I think this was their first trip to the ocean.

Joey and Ellen Wallace attended the movie 'Runaway Bride' in Texarkana on Friday night and ate supper at the Texas Road House.

Mrs. Ila Carpenter and daughter Alice of West Monroe, La., traveled to Branson, Mo., on Friday to see Ila's brother. They planned to attend church, where she attended when she was a child. The same building is still there.

Bro. Petie Ward took his wife Laura to Baptist Medical Center in Arkadelphia early Sunday morning (5:00). A big, beautiful, bouncing boy was born. His name is Jarrod Wayne and he weighed in at 9 pounds and four ounces and was 21 inches long. Other than family those who went from Rosston were Brenda and Johnny Jensen and Joey and Ellen Wallace. Roscoe and I went after the baby was born. Baby brother P.J. is real proud of him along with proud dad and mom.

Roscoe and I attended Gertie East's funeral in Camden Monday morning and I'm sure others from Rosston attended.

Alan and Kerri Russo moved to Tampa, Fla., this week. We will miss them and wish them well.
