Former students and teachers at Cale High School from the graduating classes through 1988 will have a reunion September 4, at the Cale City Park pavilion and at Cale City Hall. Alcoholics Anonymous, a fellow-ship of men and women who wish to stop drinking, meets every Tuesday at 8:00 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church. Al-Anon, for those affected by another's drinking, meets Thursday evenings at 8:00 in the church. For more information call 887-5991. Mom's in Touch weekly prayer group, praying for local schools and children, meet Tuesdays at 1:30 at First Baptist Church. Call 887-6376 for more information. Mom's in Touch first international Arkansas state rally with the founder, Fern Nichols, will be September 9 in Little Rock. A representative of the Texarkana Social Security office will be at the Nevada County Courthouse on Thursday, September 23. Supplemental Security Income (SSI) pays monthly checks to people who are aged, disabled or blind and who do not own much or have much income. SSI is not just for adults. Monthly checks can be paid to disabled and blind checks. To find out if you are eligible, call 1- 800-772-1213. Nevada County farmers are selling their produce at the farmer's market each week on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 8:00 a.m. until sold out at the Prescott City Park. If you are a Nevada County farmer with produce to sell, contact the Extension office at 887-2818 or Mary Godwin at 887-2101 for additional information concerning this opportunity to market your goods. The Nevada County Fair continues through September 4. The Prescott Middle School PTP is selling Prescott Curley Cubs and Prescott Curley Wolves t-shirts and sweatshirts as a fund-raiser. The Martin and Jackson families will hold a reunion September 18 at White Oak Lake pavilion. This is held each year at the park. The date will be September 16 in 2000. The EVA Pumpkin Fest will be held October 2 at the Emmet Chuck Wagon and old bowling alley building. Anybody interested in renting a booth spot can call 887-3285. The space is $10. There will be pumpkin costumes, arts and crafts, Beanie Babies and snack bar. The Prescott Elementary School Parents and Teachers as Partners (PTP) is selling the 1999-2000 t-shirt and sweatshirt 'Together We Stand Hand In Hand.' The sweatshirt is $15 and the short-sleeved t-shirt is $10. Both of these shirts are available in youth and adult sizes. New this year is a long-sleeved t-shirt, which is priced at $15 and is available in adult sizes only. To order call Vickey Wood at 887-1367 or Dianne Wolfe at 887-1850. All proceeds from this sale fund and support Prescott Elementary School and its students through the PTP organization. The City Council at Bluff City will hold its regular monthly meeting on Tuesday, September 7, at 7:00 p.m. due to the Labor Day holiday on Monday. Normally, the council meets the first Monday of the month. Kicel and Terry Gulley of Prescott are proud to announce the birth of their daughter, TyKiera TraShae Gulley, on Thursday, August 26, 1999, at Baptist Medical Center in Arkadelphia. She weighed seven pounds and 14+ ounces and was 20 inches long. Big brother, O'Shay Foreman, welcomed her home. Grandparents are Mabel Foreman of Prescott, Richard Foreman of Rockford, Ill., Earvin and Cora Gulley of Camden and the late Bertha Gulley. The annual Wicker reunion will be held Sunday, September 12, at the Prescott Housing Authority community room. All city, county, state and federal offices will be closed Monday, Sept. 6, for Labor Day. The county's garbage trucks will run one day late next week due to the holiday.
