Rumors Circulating On Office Closing

Rumors are circulating concerning the closing of the revenue office in Gurdon.

According to Gurdon Mayor Rick Smith, the city provides office space for the Arkansas Department of Finance and Administration at city hall. He said the ADFA has an employee there one day per week, generally Thursday.

Closing the Gurdon office, Smith said, would put a strain on a lot of people. Many Gurdon residents make use of this office to get their vehicle licenses renewed, get new driver's licenses, state identification cards for Medicaid and transfer stamps for the sale of property.

Smith urges all area residents to contact their local and area representatives voicing their opposition to this office closing.
