The board voted 6-1 to go ahead with construction of the new GMS, with Escalante the lone negative vote.

Four buses were sold from the district's fleet. L&S Auto of Prescott turned in a bid for all four at $1,753, but was turned down.

Instead, the board voted to sell three of the buses separately and keep one which still has a good transmission. For bus No. 22, the district got $500, bus No. 5 brought $200, while bus No. 6 garnered $985.

The board accepted the resignation of Becky Baumgardner and Sharon Gattis and hired Alan Wimberly as the head band director.

The district will be taking applications for all open positions, including a principal for Gurdon Primary School, through the third week of June.

Because of this, the board will meet on the fourth Tuesday in June to discuss hiring new personnel.
