Old Washington Historic State Park was the site for the first Arkansas History Quiz Bowl held on May 1. Nell Rockett, supervivor of gifted programs, directed this Southwest Arkansas Educational Co-op sponsored event.

Nineteen teams from eight school districts competed in the three levels of competition. Teams were from the following schools: Ashdown, Blevins, Bright Star, Delight, Emmet, Nevada, Prescott and Spring Hill.

The winners in the fifth and sixth grade division were Bright Star, first place; Prescott, second place; and Delight, third place.

Seventh grade division winners were Delight, first place; Emmet, second place; and Prescott, third place.

Eighth grade division winners were Delight, first place; Nevada, second place; and Prescott, third place.
