Published Wednesday, May 28, 1997 in the Nevada County Picayune

Natalie Sherwood, elementary principal at Nevada School District, recently submitted and received a grant in the amount of $12,000 from the Arkansas Early Childhood Commission for a specialized child care contract.

This grant is for a period to begin July 1. It will continue through June 30, 1998. This contract may be renewed for a period of two additional years.

This grant will allow for the care of up to 25 school-age children in the after school child care program.

"The school is excited and proud to introduce quality child care services for the parents and children," according to Rick McAfee, superintendent of the Nevada School District.

"This is the largest elementary grant that Nevada has ever received and the school commends Mrs. Sherwood for her dedication and committment to Nevada School," he said.
