This week's news:Published Wednesday, August 11, 1999 in the Nevada County PicayuneSorry my news was not printed last week. I sent it by mail on Monday as usual and somehow it didn't get in. Big news this week. Dee Jarvis and Mike Hamric married Saturday. We wish them best of luck. Junior and Ann Loe went to Unity Baptist Church Sunday, where he filled in for their vacationing pastor. J.W. and Maxine Glass were among those attending the school reunion on old school grounds at Cale Saturday. Frank and Merlene Glass also went to the class reunion. At the same time they celebrated their golden wedding anniversary. Congratulations on 50 years of togetherness. Friends and relatives were saddened to hear of the death of Coy Kenneth Glass. Karen, Hoyt and Sarah Jobe had lunch with J.W. and Maxine Glass Sunday. Bill Ed and Glenda Dixon of Orange attended church with us Sunday morning. After church we went to Don and Janice Callicott's for lunch. Others there were Amy and Emily Sweat of McCaskill, Chris and Denis Sweat of Norman, Cyril, Phyllis, Brandon and April Stewart of Prescott, Robert Callicott of Magnolia, and Cannon and Heather Callicott. We sure enjoyed Bill and Glenda's visit. J.W. and Maxine Glass visited daughter, Liz Nun, and her family in Hope Saturday and helped Payton celebrate her birthday. We appreciate Donita Almand. She also visited our church Sunday morning and played piano for our morning service. Search | Nevada County Picayune by date | Gurdon Times by date |
