Two of Prescott's Curley Wolf baseball players were named All Arkansas recently.

Al Johnston and Ross Cowling earned spots on this prestigious squad as selected with input from the state coaches.

Johnston was tabbed as one of the best with a bat, going to the plate 52 times and recording 22 hits. He scored 21 runs, had seven doubles, two triples, three homers while driving in 24 RBIs. Johnston had a season batting average of .423.

On the other side of the ball, Cowling was picked for his stout right arm. Cowling boasted a 9-2 record as Prescott's top pitcher, spending 71 innings on the hill and recording 119 strike outs. He walked a total of 62, while only giving up 30 earned runs. His earned run average was 2.96 for the year.

Both players were also picked as two the best in class AA.

Wolf mentor Steve Crow will have to find a replacement for Cowling on the mound, but will have the peace of mind knowing the Wolves' offense should still be potent as Johnston returns for his senior year.

Johnston is also expected to return under center and be senior signal caller for the Curley Wolf football team this fall.
