Published Wednesday, June 4, 1997 in the Nevada County Picayune

Roshunda D. Gulley has been accepted for membership in two national organizations, Broadcast Music Inc. (BMI) and the Songwriter's Guild of America.

BMI is a performing rights organization representing over 160,000 songwriters, composers and music publishers in all genres of music, including pop, rock, country, rhythm and blues, rap, jazz, Latin, gospel and contemporary classical.

BMI acts on behalf of its songwriters, composers and music publishers by undertaking intensive lobbying efforts in Washington, D.C., on behalf of its affiliates, seeking to protect their performing rights through the enactment of new legislation and enforcement of current copyright laws.

The Songwriter's Guild of America is the nation's largest, oldest, most respected and most experienced songwriters' association devoted exclusively to providing songwriters with services, activities and protection needed in the music business.

Gulley is the daughter of Ella Gulley.
