Reading Program Begins At LibraryPublished Wednesday, June 11, 1997 in the Gurdon TimesA fun summer has been planned at Gurdon's Cabe Library. For boys and girls in grades 1-6, it's time to register for the Independent Reading Program. All participants will get a chance for a free Icee, kid's meal or pizza to be drawn for weekly. Youngsters ages three and up will enjoy the annual Story Hour, held every Friday at 10 a.m. Story Hour will begin June 20 and run through July 25. For students ages seven through 14 should also be ready for the summer science program. The Neighborhood Environmental Science Activities program will begin at 1 p.m. Thursday, June 19. Those involved in this program will help build a rain forest for the tree frog and help solve the mystery of the strange footprint. Jif-E-Mart, Pizza Hut and the Cabe Foundation have all pitched in to support the summer library programs. For more information, call the Cabe Library at 353-2911.
