Emmet Holds AssemblyPublished Wednesday, June 11, 1997 in the Nevada County PicayuneEmmet High School awards assembly was held Wednesday, May 21, at 1:00 p.m. in the cafetorium. Academic Achievement Awards were presented to Christie Adams, Kelvin McClellan, Courtney Pulliam, Kayla Schmitt, Keri Schmitt, Kimm Westbrook, Katie Davidson, Addam Esada, Jim Faulkner, Amanda Hodges, Rose Martin, Toni Beard, Brian Davis, Jason Arrington, Jennifer Lively, Tambra Tipton, Rachel Elliott, Don Paul Mitchell, Linda Stephens, Carla Glover, Richard Wicker, Stephen Henson, Jamie Fore, Robert Harden, and Justin Cox. Perfect Attendance Awards were presented to Bonnie White, Kayla Schmitt, Keri Schmiett, Alanna Block, Jim Faulkner and Brandi White. The President's Education Award for outstanding education improvement was presented to Nick Ward. Those receiving Driver Education Awards were Melissa Adams, Rachel Elliott, Shawn Goodson, Lisa Hawthorne, Jeremy Heath, Michael Hickman, Marcus Smith, Josh Ward, Tambra Tipton, Jamie Fore and Don Paul Mitchell. The following seniors received awards on Thursday evening, May 15: Robert Harden received a full tuition scholarship from University of Arkansas in Hope for two years, President Education Award-Outstanding Academic Achievement, B.B. Hamilton Sr. Memorial Scholarship in the amount of $1,500, English IV Award, U.S. History Class Award, Overall Academic Achievement Award, and the Valedictorian Award. Justin Cox received an Army Reserve Scholar Athlete Award, Library Club Recognition Award and $100, GCE Award, Overall Academic Achievement Award, and Salutatorian Honor Award. Shane Rothenberger received the Principal's Leadership Award, Cathy Clary Ellis Library Award and $50, and the Senior High Track Award. Lagreshia Scott received the President's Education Award for outstanding eduction improvement and the Cooperative Office Education Class Award. Jami Fore received the President's Education Award for outstanding academic achievement, CT Business Application Award, Journalism Class Award, Overall Academic Achievement Award, and an academic scholarship from the VFW in the amount of $500. Ryan Pate received the PT II Award; Teddy Parmer received the Senior High Track Award; and Bill Nowajewski received the Speech Alass Award. The elementary awards assembly was held on Thursday, May 22. Those receiving Academic Achievement awards were: First grade-- Jessica Allen, Kamryan Bennett, Justin Gatlin, K.T. Hamilton, Randi Hoover, Corey Martin, Justin McKillion, Jennifer Miller, Melissa Miller, Christina Parmer, Kristofer Scott, Tyler Syata and Charalena Austin; Second grade-- Ashley Austin, Myrriah Chance, Troy Elliott, Eric Farley, Tobe Korenek, Christopher Marcum, Dakota McVey, Laci Owens and Emerald Salisbury; Third grade-- Todd Austin, Casey Burnside, Alyssa Hickey, Amanda Morris, Lauren Otwell and Jennifer Simmons; Fourth grade -- Josh Barham, Clancy Cleveland, Callie Dearinger, Kermish Glasgow, Corey Hardman, Zach Hoover, Bryant McClellan and Ryan Roberson; Fifth grade -- Shane Antley, Amber Gulley, Dustin Helmick, Jessica Jones, Shay Jones, Nicole McCoy, Haley Muldrow, Jacky Simmons and Katie Tuberville; and Sixth grade -- Michael Harvey, Nathan Henson, Ashley Hodges, Johnathon Korenek, Holly Otwell and Kendall Stanhouse. Kindergarten students received the following awards: reading -- Jason Harris and Te'varez Dixon; math -- Shaun Smith; most improved -- Joshua Brosius and Deondra Martin; good citizen of year -- Chassidy Adcock; and art -- Catherine Langston. First grade students received the following awards: math -- Melissa Miller; spelling -- Kristofer Scott; reading -- Randi Hoover and Corey Martin; Art -- Corey Martin and Melissa Miller; good citizen -- Kambryan Bennett, Tyler Syata, Justin Gatlin and Jessica Allen; most improved -- Danielle Willis and David Oliver; and math -- Tyler Syata. Second grade awards were math -- Ashley Austin; spelling -- Myrriah Chance; reading -- Amy Robertson; good citizen -- Laci Owens; most improved -- Anthony Mills; and art -- Troy Elliott. Third grade awards were best behavior -- Nikki Haddix, Todd Austin, and Brandon Hill; most improved behaviour -- Lance McCoy; best citizen -- Cassie Hardman; best worker -- Sheyann Helmick, Amanda Morris, Heather Davis and Jennifer Simmons; art --Todd Austin and Scott Hays; math -- Larry Billings and Dalton Hasler; reading -- Alyssa Hickey, Casey Burnside and Lauren Otwell. Eagles Spirit Awards were presented to Shaun Smith, Kambryan Bennett, Joshua Rosenbaum, Brock Richardson, Bryant McClellan, Jacky Simmons and Susan Tipton.
