Janes Earns Top Teaching AwardPublished Wednesday, June 18, 1997 in the Nevada County PicayuneKathie Wren Janes, formerly of Prescott, has been named Hamburg Public Schools' elementary teacher of the year. Mrs. Janes was nominated by the faculty of Wilmot Elementary in Wilmot, a part of the Hamburg School District, which has four elementary schools. Mrs. Janes and the three other elementary school nominees were interviewed by a selection committee to determine the district's elementary teacher of the year. Mrs. Janes has taught at Wilmot Elementary for 14 years. She teaches social studies and language arts in grades four, five and six. She received a plaque at the faculty awards banquet for the prestegious honors. Mrs. Janes and her husband live in Wilmot.
