Programs Focus On NaturePublished Wednesday, June 18, 1997 in the Nevada County PicayuneWhite Oak Lake State Park has planned a series of programs focusing on `Learning about the Natural World.' Thursday, June 19, at 3:30, there will be a video about nature's amusing ways, entitled, `Fantastic Follies.' Friday, June 20, there will be a Trust Walk which allows participants to learn to use all of their senses on a guided trail walk. Then at 4:30, there will be a slide show of our many great state parks, entitled, `Tour Arkansas.' At 8:30 p.m., a film stressing the importance of conservation, entitled, `A Matter of Time,' will be shown. Saturday, June 21, a volleyball game will be played at 10:30. At 4:30 the film, `A Matter of Time,' will once again be shown, followed by a video explaining what goes on above our heads, entitled, `Planes of the Sun.' At 8:30 p.m., a Full Moon Hike will be held. Sunday, June 22, at 8:30 a.m. a Colors Hike, which will allow partipants to look for nature's beautiful colors on the Spring Branch Trail, will be held. At 10:00 a film about one of the waterbirds easily found at White Oak State Park, entitled, `Great Blue Heron,' will be shown. At 2:00 a paddleboat race will be held with an entry fee of 50 cents. Prizes will be awarded. At 3:00 a craft class will be conducted where participants make their own leaf crown. At 4:00 the slide show, `Tour Arkansas,' will again be shown.
