Historic Group Ready For GrantsPublished Wednesday, June 18, 1997 in the Gurdon TimesThe Arkansas Historic Preservation Program, an agency of the Department of Arkansas Heritage, is preparing its annual Historic Preservation Fund (HPF) grant application for the 1998 fiscal year. The HPF provides about one-half of the funding for the historic preservation activities of the State of Arkansas. Ten percent of the state's allocation is designated for distribution to certified local governments. In accordance with the Comprehensive State Historic Preservation Plan, the AHPP is inviting comments and suggestions from the public on agency goals and project priorities for the coming year in the areas of survey, planning and registration of cultural resources. The AHPP will hold a public hearing from 9 a.m. to noon Thursday, August 7, in Room 955 of the Tower Building at 323 Center Street in Little Rock to accept comments on agency activities. Written comments and suggestions as to priorities in any of the AHPP's program ativities should be submitted by August 15 to Preservation Planner, AHPP, 1500 Tower Building, 323 Center St., Little Rock, AR 72201. Ownership of all Nevada County Picayune content from the beginning of the newspaper, including predecessors, until May 2001 was contributed by the John and Betty Ragsdale family to the Prescott Community Freenet Association.
