Bell Co. Delaying Its Phone Book

In order to give storm victims more time to re-establish permanent phone numbers and addresses, Southwestern Bell has delayed the publication of the Arkadelphia-Gurdon telephone directory until October, the company announcaed today.

"Many of our customers were displaced from their homes and offices by the March 1st tornado that roared through the area," Dan Herrmann, region manager of Southwester Bell Yellow Pages, said.

"By delaying the publication of the phone book, our customers have the extra time they need to re-establish permanent phone numbers and addresses and have them appear in the telephone directory. We strive to publish the most accurate and up-to-date phone book each year for Arkadelphia and Gurdon residents and businesses," he said.

The 16,900 Arkadelphia-Gurdon telephone directories normally are delivered in July. Arkadelphia and Gurdon customers will still receive the Hot Springs telephone directory next month.
