Ernest Nelson ConantPublished Wednesday, June 18, 1997 in the Gurdon TimesErnest Nelson Conant, 85, of Arkadelphis died Thursday, May 15, 1997, at Windsor Haven. Born March 7, 1912, in Springfield, Mo., he was the son of the late Warden Willis and Ettie Taylor Conant. He was a dairy farmer, first manager of Group Living and a charter member of Park Hill Baptist Church. He served as church secretary and treasurer for more than 50 years. He was preceded in death by one brother, Laron Conant, and one sister, Ester Conant. Survivors include his wife, Annie Smith Conant; two sons, Ross Conant and Lloyd Conant both of Arkadelphia; two daughters, Thelma Lee Trout of Madison Heights, Mich., and Velma Marie Seale of Arkadelphia; eight grandchildren; and 15 great grandchildren. Funeral services were held Saturday, May 17, at Park Hill Baptist Church in Arkadelphia with Rev. Bobby Cook and Rev. Blake McKinney officiating.
