Accident Kills One SaturdayBY JOHN MILLERPublished Wednesday, June 25, 1997 in the Gurdon Times A two-vehicle accident left a 22-year-old Gurdon man dead Saturday afternoon. According to reports from the Arkansas State Police, Troop K, Eddie D. Pacheco was driving his 1988 Pontiac Grand Am south on Highway 67 near the International Paper plant when he crossed the center line and struck a 1971 Chevy pickup head on. James W. Pate, 55, of Malvern, driver of the pickup, was injured in the accident. Pate was taken to Baptist Medical Center in Arkadelphia. The accident occurred at 3:57 p.m. Saturday.
